New protest march in Mexico City

The collective called 'Generación Zha' has called for a new march in Mexico City for today, Thursday, November 20. According to the call circulated on social networks, the objective is to continue their protest against insecurity, corruption, and violence in the country. This new march follows the mobilization last Saturday, November 15, which concluded with confrontations between protesters and police. The second march today, November 20, will depart at 11:00 from the Angel of Independence towards the Zócalo of Mexico City, following the same route as last Saturday: Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, Avenida 5 de Mayo, culminating at the Zócalo. For this reason, significant traffic disruptions are expected, so the Citizen Security Secretariat recommends that drivers use alternative routes to avoid closures such as: Circuito Interior; Avenida Chapultepec; Eje 1 Norte; Izazaga; Fray Servando; and Eje 1 Oriente. In parallel, a military parade commemorating the 115th anniversary of the start of the Mexican Revolution is scheduled. This parade will begin at 10:00 at the Zócalo and end at the Monument to the Revolution, following a modified route that passes through Avenida 5 de Mayo, Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, Avenida Juárez, and Avenida de la República. The National Defense Secretariat modified the route of the traditional civic-military parade of November 20 and shortened its course, due to the announcement of a new demonstration by the so-called 'Generation Z'. The traditional military parade commemorates the event that gave rise to the Mexican Revolution on November 20, 1910 and had its starting point at the capital's Zócalo and ended at the Campo Militar Marte, on Paseo de la Reforma. However, Defense showed a video on its official social media accounts indicating that the military will advance from the Zócalo to the Monument to the Revolution, a route of less than three kilometers.
